Traci Ray will be teaching Upper School Math at the Academy. She grew up in Boaz, Alabama and received her Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. Traci worked as an engineer for the U.S. Army over 37 years until her recent retirement. She worked in research, development, sustainment, and acquisition of weapon systems and their integration onto various aircraft for the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Special Forces and many Foreign Militaries. She had various leadership roles such as being Platform Integration Division Chief, Joint Interface Control Working Group Chairman, Launchers and Test Set Chief Engineer, and led investigations into weapon system anomalies like inadvertent firings, misfires, and errant missiles. Her husband, Casey, is an Air Force veteran and currently works for the U.S. Army in a calibration department. They have one son, Jason, who graduated from the Academy in 2021 and is attending Mississippi College, participating in ROTC, and is in the Mississippi National Guard. She loves to sing in the Whitesburg Baptist Church choir. She has previously taught Women's Bible Study, Kindergarten Sunday School, and Kindergarten Choir at WBC. She loves riding in the boat on Guntersville Lake, playing with their Jack Russell Terrier, and playing pickle ball. She has always wanted to teach math and is very excited that God has opened up a door to do this at the Academy. Traci's favorite Bible verse is Psalm 125:1-2.
