Academy Leadership
Jerry Reeder has served as Academy Headmaster since 2010. He grew up in Morgan County, and after graduation from Falkville High School in 1967, he farmed in a partnership with his father for 16 years and served in Vietnam in 1969-70. He went back to college and received a BGS degree in Biblical Studies.
Mr. Reeder was a homebuilder for three years, pastored a church for eight years, taught in a Bible college, coached high school softball for 13 years, and owned an insurance agency for 16 years.
Mr. Reeder came to the Academy to head the Bible department in 2009 and became the headmaster in January of 2010. He and his wife Sonya have four grown daughters and eight grandsons. They are active members of Whitesburg Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loves to do woodwork and any kind of DIY project. His favorite Bible verse is John 4:50.

By his own testimony, Mr. Parker missed being with students every day in his superintendent role. His desire after retirement was to get back to his first love – being with students every day. He feels he has found his home at the Academy.
Mr. Parker played baseball at Wallace State and at Samford University, both on scholarship. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Samford and a Masters in Administration from UNA. He graduated from the University of Alabama’s Superintendent’s Academy. He is a man of integrity and very relational toward students, faculty, and parents. He is an athlete and a strong believer in Christ. We welcome Mr. Parker and his wife, Anita, to the Warrior Family.
Mr. Parker plans to be "all in" at Whitesburg, and is transferring his church membership to Whitesburg Baptist Church after spending over 30 years at Madison Free Will Baptist Church. His favorite Bible verses are Colossians 3:23 and 1st Corinthians 10:31.
