Amy Varnon is a 6th grade teacher at the Academy. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and later received a Master's degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Varnon has spent most of her 18 years in education teaching children with special learning needs and developmental disabilities. In 2018, Mrs. Varnon was named Alternative Teacher of the Year for Madison County Schools.
Mrs. Varnon is a Huntsville native. She and her husband, Billy, have three children at the Academy: Will, Anna and Abigail. They are active members of Whitesburg Baptist Church. She enjoys spending time with her family most of all, but reads any chance she gets. Her favorite chapter of the Bible is Philippians 2.
