Heather Thomas came to us from Woodville High School, where she taught from 2008 to 2018. Mrs. Thomas has an Associate's Degree in early childhood education from Chattanooga State, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Ecology/Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee, a Master's of Education from Tusculum College and advanced education as an education specialist from Tennessee Technological University. She grew up in Bridgeport, Alabama. At the Academy, she serves as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher, NJHS sponsor, and volunteer cheerleading assistant.
Mrs. Thomas enjoys planning vacations, parties and outings for their family. She has a side business in photography - Heather Thomas Photography. She and her husband Joe have three sons, Ethan, Adam, and Max. They spend lots of time cheering on the boys in various sports. They have lived in New Market for 11 years but grew up nearby in Jackson County, Alabama. Her favorite verses in the bible are John 10:27-28.
