Wendell Cook teaches Geometry, Precalculus, and Principles of Engineering in addition to leading our Robotics team. He grew up in Rome, Georgia. Mr. Cook received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and his M.S. in Systems Management from Florida Tech. Wendell worked as an engineer for over 30 years. He worked on the design team for the Space Station payload avionics and with the Department of Defense as a Senior Systems Engineer for High Energy Laser Weapons System. He has always had a desire to teach as a second career, and had that opportunity in 2015 when he came to the Academy. He is married to Julie Cook (the Academy's lower school music teacher). They are the parents of two children, Bryan and Laura. Mr. Cook and his wife are active members at Whitesburg Baptist Church, where he plays trombone in the church orchestra. In his spare time, Wendell enjoys hiking, canoeing, and gardening.
