Manna House

National Honor Society (NHS) is comprised of 10th-12th grade students who have been accepted and inducted into the society based on scholarship, service, leadership, and character. (All specifics can be found on our website in the by-laws and the information sheet.)  Induction is held in May of each year for the following school year.

The WCA Chapter of NHS is very active.  The group meets at least once a month (meetings are generally at 7:15am in room 102) to plan projects that serve our school and the community.  Events and activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serving alongside local organizations such as Project Abundant Life, Happy Trails, Harvest Youth
  • Club, Manna House, New Leash on Life, Riley Center, New Hope Care Center, SciQuest, etc.
  • Organizing and working events such as block parties for the less fortunate and science festivals (or other academic endeavors) for our grammar and middle school
  • Holding drives (clothing, food, baby items, books, etc.) to assist others
  • Volunteering to help at school sponsored events
  • Raising funds for specific projects at school as well as for the events that are hosted by NHS
  • Tutoring younger as well as peer students
The chapter exists under the national guidelines for NHS, however, we have chosen to go above and beyond what is expected in order to fully epitomize our school end statement of graduating “well-trained servant leaders.”
